NEW HERE! QUESTION ABOUT RIDERS

JUST A QUESTION: HOW MUCH DOES THE SIZE OF THE RIDER HAVE TO DO WITH DRAGS. I HAVE AN 02 ALBA RAPTOR AND I RECENTLY RACED AN OLD BANSHEE. I AM 6' AND ABOUT 265LBS. THE GUY I RACED WAS ABOUT 5'3" AND ABOUT 120LBS. HOW MUCH DOES THAT PLAY INTO ACCELERATION, TOP SPEED? NEEDLESS TO SAY, I LOST BUT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE MUCH CLOSER BECAUSE IN THE TRAILS, IT WAS CLOSE, BUT IN A DRAG ON THE PAVEMENT, HE WON BY A LONG SHOT.

Re: NEW HERE! QUESTION ABOUT RIDERS

In drag races power/weight ratio is everything (providing both riders are about equal when it comes to shifting, and both get perfect traction). With the Raptor's weight at about 420lbs (wet weight with fuel, oil, and radiator full) + rider weight of 265 (685lbs total)if you were getting 45hp to the ground you would have a p/w ratio of about 15.1 / 1 Assuming the running weight of the Banshee is about 408 lbs + a 120 lb rider (528 total) with the same 45 hp to the ground (mildly modded by Banshee standards), he would have a p/w ratio of 11.7 / 1. so basically to keep up with a 45hp Banshee with a 120lb rider in a drag race, you would need about 58.4hp . Hope this helps.
