Sprocket Help on a Warrior please!!!
 
I want to get more mid to low range power out of my warrior what rear sprocket size should i change to should i go up in teeth or down in teeth i dont know help me out guys. Also tell me about your warriors how do they run compared to the newer sport quads and what mods do they have.

For more low to midrange power ,you would go with a bigger sprocket on the back, or a smaller one on the front. If you are running a swingarm skid plate, I don't know how much bigger you can go without the plate getting in the way. If you just want a little more pull down low, adding 2 teeth to the rear might be ok, and should fit, but if you want more than that, dropping 1 tooth up front usually is about the same as if you went up 3 to 4 teeth in the rear, and is really noticable. By dropping 1 tooth on the front, you will usually lose about 5mph off your top speed, which isn't noticable out in the woods trailriding, but the extra pull is really a big help on hillclimbs, and when comming out of corners hard (like when you want to blast past a riding buddy). Which is easier to change the front or the rear sprocket. Thanks for the advice

Both are about the same, you have to remove the rear wheel on the sprocket side of the rear axle to get the old sprocket off and the new one on, but you have to remove the cover over the small sprocket usually to get it changed. One thing to remember is if you go bigger on the rear sprocket, you will either need new longer chain or a short piece of chain (just a few links) along with a 2nd master link, or the chain won't go all the way around. With dropping 1 tooth of the front, the stock chain might still fit, if you have enough adjustment range to take up the excess slack, if not all you have to do is remove a link by grinding the pin down flush with the side plate, and knocking the pin out with a punch or use a chain breaker press to get it apart.
