What\'s it worth???

I've seen a few people looking online for a top end for a 250R. I have a very clean top end off an '86 engine, cylinder still has cross hatches from the hone, piston and rings look like it's only been run 1 time (no visible wear on the piston, just a very small amount of carbon on the top), and I don't think it's ever been bored, if it was it was probably only 1 time considering the condition of everything. The head looks brand new inside and out, It also has the exhaust flange, reeds, and intake still bolted on. What's it worth?? I've been sitting on these parts for about a year and a half, just in case my modded top end goes bad, but if I can sell it to somebody local and get cash in hand fast (like this weekend), I might sell it to one of these people. Let me know, Thanks.

Re: What\'s it worth???

go to Rriders.com or EXriders.com

they all have a lot of R's there and sure as hell can help you out much more than any of us can

All I know is the 86's seemed to be the best engine, have a longer rod.......revving quicker....but I may be mistaken

Re: What\'s it worth???

Actually the '88/89 had the long rod. If you take a .100 over 86 piston, and use it with the 88 rod (typical 265cc kit), you have to use a cylinder spacer because the piston hits the head. For some reason Honda made a .100 over piston for the 86/87 but not for the 88/89, maybe they were too lazy to come out with their own spacer plate lol.
