trouble with sister\'s 400ex

my problem is this, my sister's axle carrier is toasted and has to be replaced all together. my question is; it easier to go with an after market carrier or an oem?, and where are the best places to look?

rockymountainatv.com is a really good site, also go with an aftermarket you'll be better off

Re: trouble with sister\'s 400ex

definetly go for an aftermarket carrier, from what I've seen and heard , Honda's stock bearing carriers have a big problem with cracking and breaking around the bearing bosses . I have a stock bearing carrier off my '88 250r that looks like it got beat on with a sledge hammer , a friend bought a swingarm and carrier off E-Bay for a 400ex, to use on his mini buggy project , and his carrier looked just like mine , cracked and broke , unusable .

Re: trouble with sister\'s 400ex

Thank you every one.
I have managed to find her a lonstar machined aluminum for under $200.00 at a local shop, which beats the OEM $310.00.
I just hope it arrives in time so she can race the first race of the season.
Once again thank you for your help.
