Banshee w/Blown motor Are there common problems ?

I am thinking of purchasing a 99 Banshee for $1,700, In perfect condition other than siezed engine. I am able to complete the work myself but would like to know if I can know what to expect ? Is there a common problem with Banshee's for engine failure ? Is this a good deal ?

Re: Banshee w/Blown motor Are there common problems ?

There are some out there, but there are also some that have been going forever. Common reasons are the faulty air box design, get a proflow to fix that. And cold seizing the engine, not letting it warm up properly. Always allow it at least 5 minutes to warm up before you go wailing on it. Run good fuel(at least premium pump), and don't use cheap 2 cycle oil.

Good luck, and have fun with your banshee.

And yes that sound's like a pretty good deal.

banshees are very reliable when jetted right and dirt isnt let into the engine....when you rebuild it do it right. dont hold back, make that thing fast!

seizures from not jetting them and broken rods from over revving.
