Need Help Adjusting Warrior Valves

hey ive got the fenders tank off. got the intake side valve covers off and the motor is positioned at TDC.. Ive got the feeler gauges and can put them in. my only question is this when u put the feeler guage, should it go the whole way under the valve stem? mine is sticking about halfway through but then slides out easily from there. am i right when i think i just need to give it more clearance so i can get the guage the whole way under and then try the .002-.004 thanks guys a quick answer would be appreciated because im going riding this weekend. also will it matter that it is about 40F when i do it. thanks

Re: Need Help Adjusting Warrior Valves

I think I understand you. The feeler gauge should not stop between the adjuster and the end of the valve. Try slipping it from the side instead of just pushing it thru. Ther should be a slight drag on the gauge when you remove it. The correct specs are:
intake .00236-.00394"
exhaust .00630-.00787"
