New beach for the family vacation, St. George Island Fl

Hello,

We are semi recent transplants to atlanta, ga. Being close by in Philadelphia, we used to take our family week at the beach in Dewey Beach DE. Now we are going to try St George Island at the recommendation of my wife's coworker.

Can anyone recommend some nice spots in the park, and what would be the best place to rent a kayak on the island? Any other info would help such as best place to get coffee, breakfast, nice walks or bike rides for a toddler.
Anything you can think of.

Thanks,
Mick

St George Island

I just took some time off in St George Island about four weeks ago. Its a great place to get some rest from the fast paced world. There are several Restaurants there and most are Pub/Grill type settings. The scene is very laid back. Plenty of beach and if you need a busy scene head east about 45 minutes and there's PCB.
There are bicycle rentals and also Moped/Golf cart rentals as well to use as you explore the Island. The New Light house should be completed soon and it sits right in the middle of town.
Peaceful and very family oriented setting.
Hope you have a great time.
