A Quiet Trip to Dumont Dunes w/pix

My son and I took off a few days and headed to Dumont Dunes this past week. In spite of the rain, we had fun.

It appeared a film crew was filming a SAAB (spy pic of a yet to released new model) commercial. The driver was doing some high speed runs around our campsite. No problem, fun to watch.
I just missed snaping a pix of this driver hitting a kid/worm track at about 40 mph.
I was surprised his airbags didn't deploy. The drivers bell was rung deluxe though. Felt bad for him. He was ok, and in an hour they straightened out the cars body and resumed filming.

Very quiet, very wet from the day befores rains.
Sand Stars at 2 psi are the trick on your quad for best wet ride and handling in the wet ruts.

A pause by our camp for a pic. (SB Sheriffs stealth vehicle FYI)

A look down from Comp.

A few jumpers on otherwise very quiet dunes

Yeah... what he said. We don't get to see that kind of stuff in IN.

Behind are the Gold Mines.
Nice well maintained trails and plaques describing the history of the mines.
Some Shafts you can still enter.

In the creak bed just to their right, one can find pieces of Turquoise.

The pic of the SAAB station in the first post is a Stealth pix of unknown model to be released in summer- a SAAB dealer e mailed me and told me so. His first look at it.

An offroad.com first!
