Aftermarket steel wheels, where?

Hello folks,

Been searching for a while now....trying to find a set of steel wheels for the wife's Acura, to put the winter tires on, but as it turns out, the car came with 4 bolt 16" alloys, and nobody makes a 4 bolt steel wheel to fit it...go figure, not even Acura, this model car only ever came with alloys.
Local wheel shops say that 5 bolt/16's are common, but not the fours. We want to get the alloys refinished, and keep them out of the salt, but we'd have nothing to put the winter rubber on.
I don't mind buying 15" wheels, but the 16's we have are still good for a couple years yet, so I don't wanna run out and buy 4 new 15" winter tires.

Any good online places you folks know of for aftermarket steel wheels?.....I've exhausted my browser .

Tried Honda? Acura = dressed up Honda.

Maybe hit the junk yards and just try and find some 16" rims off a junked Honda/Acura for it?

Wouldn't it be possible to use 15" or 14" wheels and a higher-profile tire? Imagine how cool that would look.

Re: Aftermarket steel wheels, where?

AJM,

Yes, I've looked everywhere, and Honda/Acura 16" rims are plentiful, but 99.9% five bolt, not four like ours. Our CL is just one of those "one-of" cars that they built with aluminum 16" 4 lug wheels. Oh well.

Mark, you're right about the 15" or 14" wheels, but we still have a very good set of Yokohama 16" winter tires for it that I want to use til they wear out. Once the 16"s are gone, I'll go with a higher profile winter on a 15" rim...no problem.

I'll keep my eyes open for a set, and run what we've got til either a set turns up, or we wear out the winters, whatever comes first I guess. Wife only dows about 10-12 thousand miles per year so it may be a while.

Thanks for your thoughts gentlemen.
