Ever hear of a Jager Compressor?

I'm trying to help a friend track down some parts for an old air compressor....its a Jager...supposedly pronounced "Yager"...its one of those yellow tow behind jobbies, that a public works department would use for jackhammers and such....but its about 35 years old or so?....mid sixties maybe? Its a 375 CFM sliding vane style, and is run by a detroit diesel.
Unfortunately I don't have much info to go by....and my searches have yeilded nothing.

No big deal, I'm just grasping at straws here.....and thought I'd ask.
Thanks .

Here's the only Jager I'm somewhat familiar with:

If your search for air compressor parts fail, chill some of the above type of Jager and offer your friend some, that'll at least ease the demand temporarily for air compressor parts...

What sort of parts do you seek? Perhaps you could track similar components down that way...

Re: Ever hear of a Jager Compressor?

Hey Eric,

Yessir thats exactly what it looks like, or same idea anyway....its a vintage machine for sure. Its actually about 100 miles from where I am, but since I live closer to the city, so he figured I'd have an easier time locating parts for it...dunno. He's looking for the vanes themselves....and I haven't seen them yet, but from what he's described to me, they're made out of some sort of carbon compound, or phenolic?....he says when they break, they are wafer like inside and kinda crumbly?, not steel, not aluminum, not fiberglass.
I just thought maybe theres some place out there, that is a graveyard for old compressors, and there would be a place to get parts for it.....like I mentioned before, my searches haven't found anything.
If I can get my hands on one of the old vanes, maybe I can source out the raw material, and fab some new ones for him....but I'd like to at least have one new one in my hand to measure.

So fellas, what is else is Jager?...I guess a beverage of sorts...one of those ones that make you feel funny? Never heard of it up here .

Re: Ever hear of a Jager Compressor?

its spelled "jaeger" and i found hundreds of used detroit powered units around but no parts yet ...it looks like Jaeger went from pumping air for jack hammers to pumping air for hospital patients from what i have found .... i will keep looking ..........Von Warner

Re: Ever hear of a Jager Compressor?

Yeah, I found that one too....I musta spent a good hour just trying different searches, and still nothing....its like they don't even exist.
I would've thought there would still be lots of 'em around down south...no dice.
Let me know if you find anything...but if not, its no big deal....I just kinda took it upon myself to try and find some parts when he couldn't.
Talk to ya later.
