Original Nintendo Problems

Recently my buddy got his old Nintendo out and weve been playing it. I got mine out today, and it wouldnt work, i opened it up and vacumed out the dust off the stuff inside.
WHen i turn it on it kicks on then off, then on then off, i know this is Definatly old skool type stuff, but i was hoping some of you guys know some things about it. IF it is unsalvagable, can i get new parts to rebuild it from scrath or anything? Maybe a whole unit...although i highly doubt that one

Re: Original Nintendo Problems

heres a temp fix
when turning it on push pull the right corner into the tray almost. kinda hard to explain. if u take the right corner and pull/push it help the connectors hit a bit more. if u need me to explain further send me a private message or aim me at stuper381. i'll try to explain more.

Re: Original Nintendo Problems

my sister's did the same thing, i believe when she would put a game in to play, she had to place another game on top of it to push it down...i just figure beating on it enough will eventually make it work

Re: Original Nintendo Problems

Usually the pin connector inside them wears out. They are 72pin connectors, but designed at a right angle so the cartridge will fit into them.
Believe it or not, but people actually sell new ones on ebay for about $7 that you can buy and put in, and it will work like new again. here is a link to one that (unfortunately) is already sold, but i saved the link so id remember what it looks like

Re: Original Nintendo Problems

also the little part on the games that goes into the machine.....people alwasys blow on them to get them to work. tka e a q-tip and dip it in nail polish and thn clean both sides of the board with it. obviosly dont drip it in there or leave residue in there but that fixes them....as well as N64 and others
