A petition I would like you to ponder signing...

The following petition has been started in order to give to the US Congress upon closing of the petition. In regard to the subject of the petition, it happens to be "Get the UN out of America". I signed it because I believe the UN has demonstrated that it is worthless in this past year. Incapable of supporting any decision(s) which it has made, and coincidentally incapable of doing so for the past 12 + years. It seems all the United Nations is good for is lining the pockets of corrupt governments in poor countries, thereby hurting the *citizens* of those countries. The only other use for the UN is putting US military men and women in harm's way for any number of causes that they deem necessary, but absolutely refuse to supply any troops or supplies to help our causes. The UN is an anti-US organization, only keeping the US around due to her massive military and financial power...

I've talked about my feelings on the issue long enough... If you agree with the above, please take a moment and read over the petition, and if you agree with what it says, take the additional 30 seconds to put your name on the list.

It's not necessary but if y'all could post to the thread here once you've done so, I'm just curious how many actually agree with that, and if you don't agree, post and explain why...

Coincidentally I'm not sure if the US Congress would do anything about this petition even if it had the signatures of a majority of citizens on it, however anything we as the people of this soverign nation can do to let our leaders know we do not want a coalition of socialist governments to control our fate, is better than doing nothing at all...

Re: A petition I would like you to ponder signing...

Dagnabbit, Sandman - I love the idea ... I'm flabbergasted that the UN lacks the cahones to back up it's own resolutions & I would love to see us pull out of that organization & kick them out of our country ... BUT -

That particular petition will go nowhere with Congress. If it were worded differently, I'd be happy to sign it, BUT -
here's some snippets:

1)The UN's philosophy is ... pro-totalitarian.
2)The UN was founded by communists ...
3)There have only been socialists or communists who have been Secretary-General of the UN

Okay, I'm not gonna do any research on the subject, but I feel that these statements are highly suspect, and as such they'll do nothing to sway Congress or the American people.

4)The UN seeks power to control the world ...
6)The UN is building its own army to enforce ...

I hope they DO build their own army - then they can STOP using ours! We (the U.S.) ALREADY have the power to control the world - and that's not neccesarily a bad thing!

7)The UN has never settled a dispute ...

Another suspect statement. If it's true, it's because the U.S. does the dispute settling for them!

10)The UN is a moral cesspool of perverts and fat cats.

Ah - my favorite line of them all ... WTF do you think Congress is? It's certainly no less than that, and actually is quite a bit more!

So, in closing - someone come up with a plausible, articulate & eloquent petition on this subject & I'll be the first to sign!!

Re: A petition I would like you to ponder signing...

Interesting arguments... As to #1-#3, one can tell that to be true simply by looking at the decisions of the UN, and most of the top member nations. These all have *heavily* socialistic tendencies, agendas, and a general desire to push those agendas on all of us...

4)The UN seeks power to control the world ...
6)The UN is building its own army to enforce ...

[/ QUOTE ]

The way the trends with the UN have been going, their desire is to control every single event that occurs in the world and pull all governments under the same governing body. This to me is the same as the UN controlling the world. The UN is definitely trying to exercise undue influence over many matters which the US government should easily be able to handle, etc. The UN army is comprised of the armies of many member nations. If you have their insigne on, or a symbol of the UN of any sort you are essentially under their command, and there for "them"...

The UN cannot effectively settle issues in the world. They give suspect governments money and their people still starve, they do nothing to enforce resolutions about controlling which countries have which weapons (coincidentally why the hell was Iraq in charge of the UN disarmanent program???), and all they do in most conflicts is get more of our people killed due to their whacked out rules of engagement they set forth. The US *must* do what is in the best interest of the US, with UN approval or without it. When diplomacy fails, it doesn't mean the problem will go away if we bury our heads in the sand, it means other measures are needed. The UN has just recently proved it cannot settle a dispute in Iraq. The UN will not be able to handle the potential dispute with N. Korea and their current processing of plutonium, and so forth. Inspectors in areas when they are not free to roam, need escorts, told you can look anywhere (but not *there*) are totally worthless and only serve as propaganda tools for the nation in question, so they can say "see, the inspectors have failed to find anything"...

Ah - my favorite line of them all ... WTF do you think Congress is? It's certainly no less than that, and actually is quite a bit more!

However, with Congress and our Government in general we can at least "try" to influence who is in there, and get them to do what is in our best interest. With the UN we get no choice what so ever who is in charge. Our government doing things in my opinion is one thing, but an organization that obviously (just look at their history) is trending towards wanting to be the sole rulling body/ government for the world is a totally different thing, if for no reason other than we do not get a choice in what the UN does, we can at least swamp our congress critters with information, petitions, lettters, and so forth to try to get them to do what we want, afterall we do elect these people to represent us.

The biggest thing I have to say about who gets elected is perhaps we should try to get everybody we know educated about these people, push for some decent candidates and change things in that way. It *can* be done but it'll take some hard work from everybody (which I wish would happen, however it won't happen without all of us taking part, the way the process was initially intended)...

Good to see a post contradicting signing though, it shows that not *everybody* in this country will automatically do what's requested without wondering more about it...

Maybe I shall ponder starting another, slightly more carefully worded petition, with some actual facts and sources to info on it, etc. Interesting points however, keep up the good work...

the UN was good for while but it purpose is no longer needed. they quit working a while ago. the fact that they are now merely something you have to buy off to get what you want is completely [bleep]. they are runnin it like a mafia and it needs to go

Re: A petition I would like you to ponder signing...

I too will not sign it do to the very poor wording and lack of documenting facts. The concept is wonderful, and I would really like to see the U.N. done away with because they are stealing away our country right out from under our noses. I recently saw a program on public access cable that documents this very fact. I do believe that if this were thourghly investigated you'd find that the U.N. is responsible for the loss of a majority of our off-roading public lands not to mention the very possibility that they, not U.S. government (as many conspiracy nuts think), are responsible for the attacks in Oklahoma City, The World Trade Center bombing, and again in 9/11, as a means of manipulating our government to take away our freedoms so as to increase their ability to do as they please unaposed. I wish I could find who it was who made it or find a copy of it because it is VERY enlightening. Do make a better petition with documenting facts and I believe you would be able to get millions to sign it.

Re: A petition I would like you to ponder signing...

One of the first things the UN ever did was stop the fighting between the Jews and the Arabs in Israel after the British screwed it all up in 1947-48. 55 years of peace in the holy land, thanks to the UN.

They haven't actually ever really stopped a war. Maybe delayed it, or stopped the fighting for a time, but after they leave it's only a matter of time.............

I say we kick the UN out of New York and send it to France or some other Socialist hell hole. Quebec maybe?
