ever see one of these?????

its a ringtail cat . this one was a little slow and fell victim to a car in front of me monday morning on my way to the Rogue river .the redneck in me had to have the tail so i picked it up and brought it home to take a few pictures before performing the post mortum tail amputation .... they are strictly nocturnal and people rarely see them. i thought folks might find it kinda interesting ....Von Warner

Very interesting indeed. Closest thing to that around here is a raccoon . Let me know how it tastes...LOL . Just kidding.

Re: ever see one of these?????

I don't know weather I want a pet coon or go hunt them . Dang I think i would rather hunt them! A few years back my dog a german shepard got into a fight with a coon in the barn . Oh man what a hell of a noise that was screamin and barking , Wow the dog had the coon rolled on its back it probably would of gotten it but the dog was getting messed up pretty good in the face by those claws . So I had to shoot the coon with the pistol , Man I thought I was going to get my dog. But the shot was a sucess , So we took the dog and the dead coon down to the Vet because you usually don't see coon in the day , we thought it might of had rabies but it checked out ok , The dang dog just sat there and kept lapping at its sliced up nose , licking it's own blood like a goof. That dog was a heroic but not smart at times creature. I also was working on the old JD by the side of the barn and seen the dog take off well I knew something was up so I ran after the dog there it was by the woods trying to get into a pissing match with a black bear, not to bright thank god the bear wen't up a tree when me and my friend ran up . I don't think it was going to because of the dog but when we seen it and started to yell at the dog to get back here it ran up the tree . Had to drag the dog by the collar and lock him up in the barn. His heroic life ended up being hit by a car , I found him dead down the side of the road his back was busted in half and bothe frnt shoulders and neck . Dang that hurt. Don't think I will get a better dog than that was!

Re: ever see one of these?????

The funny part is you've got a rugrat hanging on to a dead animal. Most kids I know are afraid to look at road pizza let alone touch it. And certainly not take a picture with it...

I guess there are a few of us hicks left in the world...

Re: ever see one of these?????

no nintendo or game cube at my house . fishing poles and .22's. instead of simulated car chases and make believe animals running through mazes. somehow holding up a dead critter for a picture doesnt seem all that bad when you look at some of the kids running around out there . the boys thought it was neat too. I've never heard of a ring tail cat before. You learn something new everyday.
