good news!

GOOD NEWS! Canada has offered to help the U.S. in the war on terrorism!
They have pledged 2 battleships, 6000 troops and 10 fighter jets.

BAD NEWS! With the current exchange rate that comes out to 2 canoes, a
Mountie and a couple of flying squirrels....

Re: good news!

Hey that's not funny - it came damn close to that when one of our ancient Sea King helicopters decided to take a plunge into our pride and joy HMCS Iroquois. Luckily, the damage was slight, and the ship was on its way back to the Gulf within a few days.

Re: good news!

Ha ha ha,
I got that joke in my E-mail about three weeks ago, stupid exchange rates...they make it a real pain for us to buy any performance parts from the US.

And Mark,
I'm never surprised when one of our antique Sea Kings break down....Geeez, rusty old things, I see them flying overhead all the time from the Shearwater base from the other side of the harbour.....lol, they claim that theres 40 hours of maintenance performed on those choppers for every hour in the air.....Isn't that nice to know? Those guys should get medals just for flying 'em....lol.

Re: good news!

If I saw one of those Sea Kings flying overhead, I'd dive for the nearest cover.

Maybe that can be our secret weapon against Iraq - fly the Sea Kings over Iraq, and watch them run in fear over possibly getting hit by a crashing Canadian helicopter.

You're right - we shouldn't give them any reason to believe that they might escape our incompetence. We'll drop millions of flyers with a picture of a MOAB mushroom cloud and the warning "big Canadian helicopters crash all the time - give up now or YOU will be our next victim."

Yes, I agree. If man were meant to fly, GOD would have gave us wings, and not the brains to figure out how to kill ourselves in dramatic ways
