Garmin GPS ????

Can anyone help with Garmin GPS info .....

I'm looking at either the eTrex Legend or the eTrex Venture.
Which one is better ????
I'll be using it mainly for ATV'ing in the backwoods and trail riding ( marking trails and hidden lakes )

Re: Garmin GPS ????

i have the plain yellow eTrex that i got cheap, and i have to say it doesnt receive very well compared to the other bigger GPS units i've used. for 70 bucks (office depot clearance) it is awesome, but sometimes sitting on my dash driving through the woods it loses signal if there's much tree cover at all above me. for the same reasons, it can take forever to acquire the satellites, which is very annoying. if those eTrex variants use the same receiver/antenna design, I wouldnt get them.

Re: Garmin GPS ????

I've got the Garmin Legend. I like it a lot. It will plot your actual trail as you drive it, and can store 1000+ waypoints.
I use it on and off the road.
It also has a best time for hunting/fishing in your area feature.
With Garmin, you can go online and download software updates for free also.
