Garagre Sales

For the last three weeks I've been going to garage sales with my wife. The reason I'm telling you guys about this is because of the stuff I've been getting at them for real good prices.
1 a Miller Thunderbolt 225 Welder with a welding mask for $60.00
2 a Delta table top drill press which is just like new for $50.00
3 a 12 ton hydraulic pipe bender for $30.00
Just thought I'd let you guys know about what a good source this is for tools.

Re: Garagre Sales

My wife and I are avid yard salers, and garage sale hounds,...LOL. My wife collects antiques, like furniture, tins, lanterns, trinkets, etc....while I scout for hard to find tunes, cheap CDs and of course, like you mentioned..TOOLS! I haven't gotten a whole lot of stuff, unlike my wife who can fill my truck on one outing, but its more of a passtime, or hobbie I guess. Maybe if I get ambitious tomorrow, I'll take some pics of some of the items we've found.

Re: Garagre Sales

I love garage sales! Got a cutting torch with all of the tips, cart, striker, and both bottles still full for $80! The husband had apparently passed on and she just wanted to get rid of all of his stuff! Almost felt guilty about it! To bad I didnt get there earlier, he had a big collection of Snap On tools, all gone when by the time I got there! Hardly ever seem to get lucky on which ones to hit first though!

Re: Garagre Sales

I found garage sales in areas with lots of retirees the best. Because the old-timers don't work on their cars so much anymore, theres plenty of tools. And always buy the namebrand tools (Craftsman) even if broke, since you can get free replacements at Sears.

Re: Garagre Sales

Don't forget about auctions - sometimes you can turn around and sell what you bought for double or triple what you paid for it - you just have to get a handle on what the heck the auctioneer is saying before you bid too much.
