gees louise, everyone seems to think that George Bush being here is a big enough deal that i cant even find time to check the forum today! we have been running around setting up barricades and preparing for his motorcade. working with the secret service and all that jazz. the best part is this.....since he is in Michigan and its winter he passed on his limo and is riding in his Chevy Suburban! thats what im talking about......no sissy limos for the president of the USA! just tou8ched down.....motorcade is on the way, ill be back later

Re: President just flew into town!

ok he is inside now for his "round table discussion" i believe on health care.

shorts are you calling me a liar? i was told he opted to have the Burb because he wanted it instead of the limo, but hey if he always rolls in the Burb thats cool too. you know those Burbs are those 8 ton bullet proof ones with the 454 and run flat tires......(same one my brother drive in the army) only a pretty black color.

and so what if he drives a ford truck (not about brands here shorts, one war was enough).....its a truck and not some bentley or lexus.

WOOHOO for the Texan's, all of you! keepin it real in the white house

Re: President just flew into town!

i think so too shorts.
well lots of people were out protesting the war. then they got mad and turned into an angry mob. then they took to the streets blocking them off. then out comes the riot gear. then they start gettin lippy and not listening, then they go to jail then eventually they get on the news. the cameras go away and then the protestors do.
what they didnt know is that we had vice guys in the mob protesting all day too.....so we knew exactly who was inciting it! ahhh what fun....i got a sign that was left on the sidewalk hanging in my office now as a reminder of the fun day

Re: President just flew into town!

yeah gore can be caught in the tire. i hate that pin dick. anyway when bush came to detroit, they had every overpass on 696 blocked off and guarded with m16's for about 1hour before he came up. they were only letting one overpass every few miles through. took me FOREVER to get home,,,,but thats A OK Mr President!

Re: President just flew into town!

Hell yeah he was here. My company got the fuel contract for Air Force 1. We pumped something like 3800 gallons of Jet A into Air Force 1. Made for a nice fuel commission. I spent all day out on the freight ramp at GRR. I froze my ass off, but it was cool. I helped with the Press Plane, the one that brought all the CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and Fox dorks (except for the Fox people) by parking it, bringing up the stairs, unloading all their equipment (I made extra sure to bang all the boxes as hard as I could, even dropped one), and then doing the opposite when they left. We made friends with one of the head Secret Service guys and they let myself and my coworker George sit out front and watch GW get off the plane. We were back a ways, but they chased all the other "non-Presidential" people off the ramp, so it was just a bunch of people in business suits, trench coats, and other nice stuff.................and me and George in our grubby work clothes. I got to see him get off and wave at the crowd. He shook some hands and left.

Oh yeah, the great part was the "mob" of protesters out in front of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. What a bunch of loosers. About 1pm I went to grab some food. Like 10-15 people standing out front, just sorta milling around. One person looked like they had a sign, but wasn't even holding it up. They were all just standing there in a snowbank. Morons. This fat lady was standing out front waving her hands at everyone. If there was more slush on the ground I would have splashed them. Great part was GW's motorcade went out of a freight entrance on the far side of the airport that is normally padlocked shut. They didn't even go through the main airport entrance. So those morons stood out their in the cold for pretty much no reason. They were also parked illegally, so I think they got in trouble for that too.

Oh yeah, Sparty, he rode in one of the newer Suburbans. 2500HD with what I think was a 8.1L. No diesel smoke. Defintaly not a stock engine though.

GO GW!

Oh yeah (again), he also has a Suburban on his ranch. I remember seeing it during the campaign a few times. Dark green 88-99 body style.
