Wut y\'all got fer cameras?

Hi folks,
My wife and I just bought a new Olympus D-550 digicam for Christmas to replace our aging Sony, that she brings home from work when we need it. Just wondering if anybody has one of these, and how they like it. If you don't have an Olympus, what do ya have, and how is it? I'm doing a post purchase comparison...LOL, I had no choice anyway, this was the last one in stock around here. Later.

I'll be gettin a Pentax Optio 330RS very soon. Its a nice camera, played with it in the store, and I like it a lot, its got lots of options.

Re: Wut y\'all got fer cameras?

I have a Sony DSC P50. 2 megapixel. It makes good 4x6 prints. Takes movies too no sound though.

Only one thing I don't like about $ony is that it only came with a 4 meg memory stick. I replaced it with a 128 and bought the rechargeable battery pack for it, so that added a good $100 to the total price.

Also, I recently bought a Canon printer that will print directly from Sony's memory stick, compact flash or just about any other type of compact storage media. That's pretty cool, don't even need a 'puter to print pics

My wife and I bought a Sony 2meg camera. The thing works like a champ. Not one problem with it. The flash works great. Printing pictures is easy and they come out real good.

Re: Wut y\'all got fer cameras?

I got an Olympus D-380.
2 megapixels, and quite a few other features.
I like to be able to switch between spot, and overall metering.
The macro function also works well for bright sunlight, or snow pics, since it closes the lens down a few f-stops.
Takes great shots as far as I'm concerned.
Just wish I had purchased one with the "optical" zoom, since the "digital" zoom aint worth a hoot.
I can do better in PhotoShop.

Here's a couple digital camera links.

I got one of those old ones where you have to drive to the store to get the film developed.

film (noun): A thin sheet or strip of developed photographic negatives or transparencies

Re: Wut y\'all got fer cameras?

I'm with Markieboy, still got an old film type camera. It's got issues thanks to me dropping it countless times, it being immersed in water, whacked with many objects, etc etc etc. I want to replace it with a digicam, but to get a good one, I'd basically pay more than one of my truck payments. Not gonna happen for a while.

Re: Wut y\'all got fer cameras?

Now don't get me wrong. I have a new Sony digital, but when I am taking pictues I know I will print out or blow up to 8x10, I have my SLR camera. The Minlota HTSi. Damn good picture quality. I refuse to pay $600 for a camera just to get quality pictures for a digital.

I'm with Mark too. Except I'm probably worse. I just use disposable cameras cause I tend to lose or break the darn things when I'm out having a good time.
