actually, a lot of people know the difference...the info is in books you know [img]images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] but for those that don't, saturated fat is the fat that you'd want to reduce/intake in moderation to keep your cholesterol level in check.
saturated fats are solid at room temperature...unsaturated fats are liquid. so, when you eat them, the ease of breakdown is a direct result of the fat's structure... liquuid fats breakdown faster and easier than the solid fats do. the carbons in saturated fats are fully loaded with Hydrogen(hence the name "saturated"). and to get rid of hydrogen in the body, you need more O2 to burn them....so, to burn body fat, you need aerobic exercise..ie, more uptake of O2 at longer durations.
