Re: new el camino?
correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that the Austrailian Maloo (Holden)?? if it is, then yes, it's got the camaro version of the ls1.
if it isn't, then i'm also puzzled. |
Re: new el camino?
It says el camino on the rear
Looks pretty good, too |
Re: new el camino?

It does look like the Holden Maloo ute.
http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/...?modelid=15002 Here's the picture referred to in this post: http://tellico.off-road.com/wwwthrea...57920-elky.jpg Could be a custom done Impala with Maloo parts and styling or a Maloo brought over here and "Elky/Imapalerized". I'm leaning towards the later because that'd be A LOT of custom work, and it does look a lot like the Maloo. Anyone know if this was a Chevy display or anything? Was it FWD or RWD? The Maloo is and has always been RWD, uses the Camaro 10 bolt. If it's FWD then we know it's an Impala or something with a lot of custom body work. |
Re: new el camino?
I just spent a few days in Australia over thanksgiving. Those things are everywhere over there. The nice ones are the SSute with a all aluminum 350. I think it is an LS1. they go for about $50,000 au. which works out to about $30,000 us dollars

Re: new el camino?
yes, ls1, i worked on the 96 model year a long time ago, they had a lot of nice options then too
|
Re: new el camino?
It looks like a custom job to me. Anyone else notice the writing beneath El Camino? It looks like it says supercharged to me. I don't know of any GM products that come with a factory supercharger.
Also, the "HOUSE OF COLOR" sign in the background makes me think this is some kind of aftermarket dealer/custom car show. |
Re: new el camino?
buick regal, grandprix, bonoville (sp?) typhoon, cyclone (or where the last two turbos?)
|
Re: new el camino?
What years did they offer superchargers in those cars? I didn't know they ever did. Also, what are the typhoon and cyclone, I've never heard of them.
