Video Editing

Im looking for a program to do some video editing in the near future. Something that will allow me to slice, edit, (maybe) resize the movie, and if possible, take 'screen shots' of the video to save as jpgs. Ive never done any video editing before, so i have no idea whats good, what sucks, etc, so i was wondering......
What does everyone use, and do you like it? Or, what would you recommend?

Re: Video Editing

I use M$ Movie Maker for mine, it does a decent job for what i need, which is mainly just converting to compressed formats for smaller web movies. you can move clips around but it doesnt appear to have many advanced features. if you dont have it, check their website, it might be a free download like media player.... it came with XP though

Here is a video editing proggy I've used before. It's a great program, I think you can take screen shots with it, but have never had any need to, so I don't know . Heres the link LINK The rest of the site has lots of info on all kinds of video stuff to! So look around.
