good book for those interested in protection

Seems a lot of folks on car/truck boards also talk about "The Right to Bear Arms". How many people practicing this would actually be able to properly defend themselves. I read a book by:
Lt. Col Dave Grossman called "On Killing" (The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society)
It was an eye opener for me, I think some of you may get something out of it.

Re: good book for those interested in protection

I haven't heard of "Bulletproof Mind" but it sounds good. I think "On Killing" would be great reading for most people, especially those that think they need a firearm for protection. I'm all for owning weapons & using one to defend myself if necessary but so many people just get a gun & think they are ready to take care of themselves.
Maybe a guy gives his wife a gun to use for protection while he's away & she keeps it in the night stand. That could be a dangerous scenario! Seems like a lot of people think it would be easy to point a gun & pull the trigger, but if you draw you better know what you are doing. I think if you have a weapon for protection you should be responsible enough to get some training otherwise you might be creating a dangerous situation for yourself.
