city hillbilly

ahh, cleaned out the garage and the back yard. I had to torch a truck bed, a few other car parts and a couple steel desks. I was cutting a hood in half and noticed my nieghbors across the street sitting in lawn chairs drinking beer and watching the fireworks with the harleys sitting in the front yard,,,,,,,gotta love suburbia gotta love the "blue wrench"

Another suburbia story

A number of years back when I lived in the CA 'burbs my neighbor 2 or 3 doors down was stripping stuff out of a junker to put in his street rod. I walked down and talked to him for a while and asked him if he needed help getting rid of the leftovers. He said "No" and that him and another guy were going to Victor wrench the remains and take it to the dump.

Well, that was cool with me so I walked back up the street to get my rig ready for a weekend on the Rubicon. A few minutes later the other guy drives up in his truck and they proceeed to take the junker apart.

Now the good part ... They had pulled the gas tank and set it on the sidewalk but neither one of the had noticed that the gas was draining out and running down into the storm drain. Then they fired up the hot saw ...

Well, there was a loud whoosh and a size large explosion. The manhole cover in front of my house went about 15 feet in the air and the column of flame went even higher. The manhole cover buried itself in my lawn and it rained leaves, slime and garbage from the storm drain for about 5 minutes.

After I went in the house to change my underwear I came out to survey the damages and I gotta tell ya the neighborhood wasn't pretty site. Oh yeah, it took them 2 days to clean up the mess.
