Norton Internet Security

First off, I installed NIS a few months ago. When I open the program, the opening page shows Current Status. On that page it shows Personal Firewall settings. Under that it shows recent attacks on my computer. Today alone I got about 20. Any idea what's going on? They're always all from the same IP. Is this nothing, or should I be worried?

A. Depends on what kind of attack you are talking about. If it is something like an Http port probe from your ISP it is no big deal. Also games will trigger an alert in the form of a UDP port probe. Anything else that is continiously coming from the same IP is a deliberate attack and you should be logging it and reporting it to your ISP and there ISP, which is usually traceable. Sounds like maybe your pc was infected with a backdoor trojan or something and you cut them off when you installed the Norton program. Here are a couple of site that you'll find interesting. This one http://www.pcflank.com/index.htm will scan your pc and let you know how visible you are to the web and will also scan for trojan's and vulnerabilities.
