Reg. Cab-KC bed differences.

Ok, I know that there are differences between the king cab, and the regular cab beds. I know that the wheel wells are further back on the reg. cab. Are there any other differences? Would a reg cab bed mount up to a x-cab chassis and be the right distance from the cab??

The reason I am thinking of this is the following:
1: The 2wd-4wd spring swap moves the axle back, could you make it look ok by changing beds????
2: I will sooner or later be putting a new rear axle under my truck, I could get a different bed, and move the rear axle back, allowing for a longer wheelbase, and also giving me more bed when I bob it.

Re: Reg. Cab-KC bed differences.

I don't think it would work, I measured my truck against my grandparent's '89 Reg Cab and it was longer between wheel wells and cab; mine was shorter. So I would think that if ya mounted a R.Cab bed to a K.Cab Frame there would be almost no Gap. I always assumed they were exactly the same ? hope it helps.

I had the unfortunate occourance to find that out the hard way, but what is the difference, if any, from the first bed mounting point to the cab?
