I am just thinking of new drivetrain combo's.
does anybody know if there are any 4cyl auto 4x4 nissan's out there? Also, how well does the webber carb on the 4 bangers handle very rough terrain at high speed? I am asking because I have to have a plan of action ready for the D21 by the new year. Any ideas on what combo might be good for a tuff truck compatition? I am thinking a high reving 4, with a 3 speed auto, capped with a AWD transfer case. I am thinking that the viscous coupling transfer case will be great for those courses do to the slippery surfaces and the ability to slip when comming in for a landing. What do you guy's think?

Re: feedback

The only tranny's I can think of are out of the early Terrano's.

Starting in 93' using a 4 cylinder inline, 2 valves per cylinder, Gear driven camshaft 2500 or 2700cc. They were available in 5 door versions with either a 2.4 litre petrol or 2.7 litre turbo charged diesel.

They are quite a rare engine! only used in the Terrano at present and 90% of Terranos seem to be now running diesel.

Re: feedback

What about an automatic that will bolt to the z24 engine? I am not looking for anything that is rare. That's the last thing I need. How about an automatic from a car? Then using an independent t-case & one of those driveshaft gizmo's that allow use of 4 wheel drive on pavement? I am thinking CHEAP!!

Re: feedback

My sister has a 4cyl hardbody 2wd. I think it's a 91. So an adapter or divorced t-case could work.
