NOOOOOO!!!! I finally pulled my T-150 from my '79 CJ-7 to swap in a T-18 and the input shaft on the T-18 is about 3/4 of an inch too short! When I bought it, I was told it was a Jeep T-18A from a CJ, but now I'm thinking it has to be a Ford T-18. The first gear is 6.32:1, it says T-18 on the side of the case, and has a Dana 20 Xfer case bolted to it. From what I have read, I thought Fords were supposed to bolt right up anyway and it was the output shaft you had to change. Anyone have any idea what this transmission is? I'm thinking I may be able to get a pilot bushing that is 2" long to bridge the gap, is this begging for trouble? I really don't want to swap out the input shaft if they even make the correct one. This tranny wasn't cheap to begin with. Any thoughts are appreciated!!!

shaft is about 6.5 inches from a FORD T18, the Ford T18 has a bolt pattern identicalk to the T150, while the Jeep T18 has 2 bolts closer together on one side.

the PTO covers are on opposite sides also, butid have to go outside and look to tell you which is which
