Armed with magnetic protractor and a tape measure, I set up my toe in and caster angles after installing hybrid rears up front & the Calmini linkage. In the process I moved the front axle forward by drilling the springs as I have a S/R.
Drum roll please........
I brought my Sami to an alignment shop with fingers crossed. The verdict......I had it set up one tenth of a degree out of spec....Not too shabby!
Guess I just ran out of things that could go wrong.....
Atta Boy! So are you SPOA now? What did you do about your front lower shock mounts? (I moved my front diff 1" forward also, and now the lower shock mounts that came with my SPOA kit aren't long enough. It looks like I'll have to change my upper shock mounts too.)
Mr. Surly..... I'm still spring under and will remain that way for a while. I'm waiting on rear springs so I can make hybrid packs to replace my trashed rears....
I'd like to ask if you had any trouble mounting the lower ends of your shocks after you moved your front diff forward. What kind of shock mounts are you running? Thanks.
I'm using the Calmini u-bolt skids and they have a lower mount on them similar to the stock mount..... No trouble mounting them at all....
