OK....my tranny is basically gone in my 2000 warrior (locks up in first, doesnt transmit power in third, wont shift above third either.....and it sounds like its all gonna fall apart) . So, while i have it apart what are the standard things i should replace and look at. I know basic things like seals and bearings, but is there anything else i should know? thnx

the first thing I wanna know is what the heck did you do to it??? Holy crap..I beat the living hell out of my tranny on my shee's and everything else i own for that matter and have only had to replace a couple gears....I rarely use a clutch..usually to start off and stop and that is it...

look for bent forks, shafts, and missing teeth...seals and gaskets should be replaced anyway if you are going to tear down that far...and when you are done...DO A LEAKDOWN TEST!!!!!!!!!!

dirtshift? I am not sure what you mean by that saying, but if you mean power shift? Yes 95% of the time that I ride...Like I said before I use the clutch primarily for starting, stopping and SOME cornering...that is it...

turns out this is probably what happened:
1.shifting without clutch damages fork
2.riding in snow breaks fork
3.piece of fork gets caught in gears
4.gear teeth shear off
so now i have to wait for parts- expensive parts!
