Taco-Meter for my S-10

My S-10 5speed came with no Taco-Meter and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do something to put one into my dash so that it looks stock.

My S-10 has 6 guage points, top left is temp, bottom left is seatbelt, center left is speedo and center right is fuel. Top right is oil pressure and bottom right is my battery.

What I was thinking of is moving my fuel to the spot currently taken by seatbelt and stuff in a tacometer (RPM's) into the hole created by the lack of gas gauge. I would prefer being able to check my RPM's instead of the useless seatbelt light.

Thanks for the help!

I, among others have said that the gas gauge would make a wonderful place for a tach. I've been told that some s-series actually came with a tach instead of a large gas gauge, and the gas gauge in place of the seatbelt light as you mentioned. I have never seen one, but if you found one in a junkyard I'm sure with some rewiring you could retro-fit your truck. I've never heard of a kit that would install a tach into the dash, but they could be out there though. I've installed my tach on the dash behind the steering wheel, but you can put yours anywhere you want. It would be interesting to let us know if you do fit a kit that installs into the dash though.

I'm sure you can find a one-piece instrument cluster to replace the original one. More than likely you'll only have to worry about plugging it into the harness, but there might be some pin relocation issues.

If you can't put it in the dash, how about a tachometer on the driver's side A-pillar? I think they look pretty good there and don't distract from driving at all. Just my thought on that one...

I have seen the taco you are looking for. I got parts off a 84 or 85 s-10 tahoe stick shift and it had the taco-meter were the gas gauge is. You have to really hunt for the dash because the guy, that I bought the parts off of, offered me the instruments for 5 dollars.
