Finally changing the rear brakes and trying to fix the E-Brake. Is the part in the pic supposed to move at the pivot point? I assume it is but wanted to make sure before I broke something. If this is rusty should I get a new one? Thanks. Jim

It is supposed to pivot. Soaking it in a penetrant/ rust remover will help. If you can free it up so that it will pivot again, I would used anti-sieze compound at the pivot point. It has worked for me and hopefully will not sieze back up in the future. Hope this helps.....

Got everything loosened up and back together. After about 7 years I have an E-brake./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif The brakes seem a little low however. Do I have to manualy go back in there and adjust them or is there another option? Thanks. Jim
Well the adjuster is automatic, it is the pawl on the far right of your picture. I believe the manual says that it will
adjust when the brakes are used HARD. (I have tried the e-brake method too,) stomp the brake hard a few times while rolling forward and back and see if that tightens them up.
This is one thing I don't have to worry about anymore,(At least on the weasel) as it is disk brake all around.
While on the subject how many people flush their drums out with clean water after going in mud? If you don't your brakes will wear out MUCH sooner. That and not work as well.
I used to do it when I got back from a trip. the brakes lasted a full year + and I daily drive it too. I plan on swapping them onto my stocker soon. (My old brakes as the
pads are not worn.)
