Axle Shaft- machine shop? New bearings?

Who would I contact for getting new wheel bearings install on my D44 shaft? I can't get the old bearing off? It looks all messed up.. how much would this work cost?

They are pressed on and pressed off. NAPA or another garage will have to do it if you don't have a press. It usually costs between $10 and $20 to have new bearings pressed on. You'll need all the new parts first though. You're probably looking at $35 for the seal and bearing, so that's $50 to $60 total.

my only problem looking for parts is what year or vehicle the narrow track D44 is from???????????? It wasn't stock and was swapped in.

I guess everyone on the bbs has to tell you this before youll actually take it for good info :+)

take it to a shop, they can match the bearings and seals from teh numbers on them.

if you have to ask how then you dont have the equipment or knowledge to do it.

Go to partsmike.com and give him the numbers on the axle tube (passanger side of axle tube) and he should be able to set you up.... 1972 - 1975 used a D44 with a centered diff, narrow...
