I was just wondering if I need to sand between coats of primer. I am just doing a rattle can paint job until I build a garage. So it is just going to be for a couple of years. If I need to sand what gritt paper? 400?
Thanks

I was also wondering what was the best way to clean bondo and spot puddy off my mixing board and paddles. I tried just washing them with water but it doesn't do a really great job.
Thanks

No you dont need to sand between coats of primer. I usually start sanding with about 180 grit and work my way to about 320 or so. I dont try and clean the bondo of the tools until it dries and then I use my knife or something like that to scrape it off.

Bondos little mixers are the color bondo should be and when bondo is dry you just flex them and the bondo falls off. They are like $2 bucks for a set. I sanded between coats when I was using spray equipment but I guess spray paint doesn't matter. Make sure you use a block to sand or your fingers will sand uneven.

I have been using bondo allmost non stop for the last week on the frame of my puller(filling all the little indents and stuff to make it smooth) Anyway, I find that even when its hard the best way to get it off is with asitone or how ever you spell it. Before putting on the bondo anyway you should be cleaning it up with the asitone so it will bond better. As for the primer...I sand with 320 inbetween coats (I only put to coats of primer on and both are very very thin).

Acetone, its a fiberglass thinner. Watch thast "no hardner" sun cure bondo. I never had luck with it. The best bondo is from a auto paint store. They have feather light stuff that is great. Same price as bondo too. Tiger hair I think is the name of another good one for filling in rust holes.

Thanks for the tips guys!! Hey Ryan I will try to scrape the bondo off if that doesn't work I will try the acetone thing.
Also Ryan I just wanted to say thanks again for bringing(?) that hood to they tractor-pull for me. I ended up having to leave after the 4x4 pullers, my daughter had enough fun I guess.
Later guys
