Bestop Trailmax durability?!

I have a pair of Bestop Trailmax Pro seats that I bought about 14 months ago. They have since shown an abnormal amount of wear.... there are rips in the stiches on the sides, and a metal rod from one the springs has poked through the cushioning in the front. This is unfortunate, because these seats are extremely comfortable, more so than my buddy's Steel Horse super seats. I'm not hard on my seats at all. Anyone else had this problem? These things cost $250 apiece! www.nyjeepin.com

You are the first person that I have heard of that could tear those things up. Not trying to hit a nerve here, but how much do you weigh? If you are over 250 lbs. or so then your weight could have alot to do with those problems. They still should not have worn out in that amount of time.

That price is outragous. Bestop usually has a sale sometime at http://www.thinkjeep.com. You could watch thier site for a sale, quadratec also. Now I know why I got the sport model.

Since I haven't heard thinkjeep.com mentioned often on this board I would just like to say that Gene at Turner 4wd is one of the best guys around. Turner is about 5 mi. from my house and I am in there quite often, and believe me, if he doesn't have it he can get it as far as any peice I have tried find. Not like Rosser and the arrogant asses they have at that place.

I've got a pair of the sport models that don't recline. I've had them for about year, and they still look almost new. I think I treat mine pretty rough, they spent the whole summer in the Jeep with just a bikini top. They get a lot of mud on them and I just hose it off. Only bad thing about them that I can say is that they sit higher than stock. I would call Bestop and complain if I had the trouble you had. Good luck

I'm tiping the scale at over 300 pounds right now. I have trailmax pro's in my jeep that sits on 35" tires So the sides get alot of me draging my big butt in and out. My seats are in excelent shape and have no problems other than the height of them. At 6'2" I have to slouch to look through the window.
