I have both on my truck to make the back higher i had shackles so i added leafs too wanted a little more height. I also jacked the torsion bars. After this picture was taken i put fender flares on it and bigger wheel spacers looks like a zr2 basically

Just curious, why would you want the rear higher than the front? I've always been in the desert racing scene and the rear is always lower than the front, mostly because the rear springs were softer for the ride.

The soft rear end always limited your payload capacity, but made the ride a lot easier to handle at greater speed. The front end always took the brunt of the punishment and was stiffer.

Well i have the back higher for a little more payload capacity but mostly for looks. Also if you notice the factory always has the back higher for airodynamics. The truck cuts through the air easer like that.

How does having the back higher help with aerodynamics? The design of the front end seems to have far more impact on aerodynamics than the rear would. If they wanted it to be very aerodynamic, they'd make a wedge shape on the front and make the back a decreasing wedge so the air can move effectively back together after the vehicle and not make any turbulence which can reduce fuel mileage, although that's not practical. Oops I'm just rambling.

Happy New Year guys (and girls)

Well picture this all the suspension hangs under the vehicle along with other drivetrain componets create drag and effect fuel economy, this is why the factory keeps the front low and adds air dams to help prevent the air from going under. By keeping the front low and back higher and also the use of air dams, doing this helps guide the air over the sheet metal providing less drag.

I just want to lift the rear up an inch or two to compensate for the tortion bars being crancked up in the front. I just wanted to know if anybody new of a company that made lift shackles?
thanks
