i've been searching through the posts to see if you guys would prefer a bolt on or weld on spoa? i want to go 5.5" and i wheel hard, im not into jumps any more, but i like to switch up the axles?rocks, mud, crawlin etc.my vehicle is mainly driven on trails only, and to and from the local ones. i have all winter to decide, i stripped the zuk last night, right down to the bare block. body comes off this weekend.
i have acess to any type of welder and a pro to do it right. the reason i am leaning towardds bolt on is cause i heard it weakens the axles? Also i don't know how to weld, and i would easily be able to bolt on a bolt on.

build it, break it, then build it better.

go weld on buy or build perches with straps that wrap around
to lower [old] perches weld to lower perches weld your upper
perches 1/4 of one side at a time switch back and forth
so that you don't overheat your axle tubes i'm probaly overly careful but like it that way. mig if you can but
arc works well to.

If you buy the perches (RRO's are cool))the welding is a piece of cake(if you use your friend!!)
These are some I made up ala RRO (Thx Glenn) very little welding on the axle tube itself. That's good cause thayza real THIN.....
Buy your buddy a case a beer and get busssssssssy......

By far our most popular kits are the weldon kits. WE do sell quite a few bolton ones though. There are simply some guys that do not have access to a welder, or may want to remove the lift at some point in time. We've had a couple customers who have ordered the bolton system knowing they will have to remove it once a year for annual vehicle inspections.

Some folks have also purchased the bolton kit and then driven it to a shop for welding. Making it into a permanently welded system.

Our bolton systems has been tested with and is okay to run with any lifted springs. However, if you are only looking for 5.5" of lift, it might be best to run the SPOA with a set of taller shackles. The SPOA lift itself delivers about 5" of lift and we also have shackles provide a true lift of .5" (1" taller), 3/4" (1.5" taller), 1" (2" taller), and 1.5" (3" taller).

If you have any other questions on the bolton system, you can email us any time.
