Anyone knows what's going on with the new 4 door Rubicon?
Why aren't they available as much?

Jeep is cautious and won't bank on any one platform as a savior of it's business. They'll only produce a limited first year production gaged by their marketing and sales group. The dealers are selling the Four-door Rubicon. Last cost I heard was between $27,000 and $35,000 depending on the options you'd order. They're selling well and there is a wait. To find out in your area a wait list is, ...you'd have to contact a local dealer.

I've seen a handful Rubicon's at the MANY Jeep dealers there are here in Detroit, but there have been more X's and Sahara's. The most JK's I've seen in one lot is 12. I've also seen more new 4DR's than 2DR's on the road.

I'm headed to the Detroit Auto Show tomorrow afternoon for one of the vendor days. I'll see if I can get some good shots of the Jeep booth.

MTPockets and I will be going together next weekend during public days (much more difficult to get pictures then).

I'm sure there's a limited market for them - most people wanting something that ugly would buy what it's trying to imitate, the H2.

I've heard over 50% of the 4 doors are 2wd? True?

I talked to the local dealer and he told me he made a killing on the ONE 4 door rubi they got it so far.
Of the 7 4 doors on the lot, 6 were 2wd. no one wants them.
they are VERY rare around here.

I see 4-5 at every Jeep Dealer I pass around here, and seemingly more running down the roads.

Allow me to back pedal a little... I missed the Rubicon part. I've seen several 4 door wranglers. how many of those are Rubicon, I didn't notice.

Looking at it the other way - do they even make a 2wd TJ?
Maybe their target market isn't 4 wheelers at all. Could it be they are just trying to get a little H2 business?

Kinda like Cadillac with their 4x4's. I talked with one of those "owners" - they didn't even know what 4 wheel drive was!
