hey ya'll...
hope i can get the love here that ive got on some of the other forums that i enjoy. tried to put my bike on your list, the forum wouldnt let me change pages. havnt rode seriously in better than a decade... but i recently got my bike back. rebuilt. one minor problem to deal with... but ill get to that after getting to know some of you cats.
74' yza 250... got it when i was 14. only had 4 hours on it. rode it into the ground...scored cylinder head. thus the... well actually 2nd rebuild. first guy screwed it up. so it needed all the guts to be replaced. look foward to getting to know you guys. tia.

almost forgot... the whole reason i came here was to get some info on thrust washers in the clutch assy., the last guy who rebuilt my bike couldnt get the right answer from anybody. so theres an extra thrust washer on the backside of the basket. heres my problem, cant get to it. everytime i put anykind of torque on the on the nut that holds the basket, it just spins. i was told to hold the basket and try. bad idea
, its over torqued. i was told by the "master mechanic" down here at my local yamaha that i needed a "special tool" to hold the basket in place when i put torque on the nut... not going to give some clown that told me he hasnt seen a bike like mine in 20 years 80 bones to do the job
. is there anyway to keep the basket in place so i can remove the nut?
