Would anyone know how, or where on the internet I can find how to adjust the timing on a 1994 Polaris 400 4X4? Are there specs available online? If so, would someone mind sending me a link? Thanks for the help! (Yep, I'm a newbie!)

The timing check hole is in the magneto housing. Timing marks are stamped on the flywheel. The engine must be cold, start and set idle at 3K rpm. The center mark will be 23.5. If you're not there, remove the stator cover & flywheel. loosen the stator plate and adjust it. Clockwise delays timing, counter clockwise advances timing.

There will be a standard hatch mark where factory timing should be set and this is where it should be. If you are having running problems, check your components. If you are trying to obtain more power, you will only acheive detonation at high rpms because of the preset cdi advancement. On the average you can gain a bit a throttle responce with 3-4 degrees advance, but no more with pump gas.
