Has anyone ever priced or had thier trucks underneath rhino lined? Is this a good idea or not?

ummm, thats going to be a lot of money for undercoating. i wouldn't do it. what's your intension for rhinolining the underside. less road noise? corrosion protection? if you're going for less road noise, just line the interior with dynamat or some soundproofing stuff. if its corrosoin protection, then go ahead with a regular vehicle undercoating. it'll probably help dampenr sound a tab.

I undercoated my frame and suspension with chassis saver (similar to POR 15). If you're not familiar with the stuff, it's basically just a super-strong black paint that is nearly indestructible. It has chipped in places, but that's because I didn't sand that part. Ends up having a plastic-like finish. I just bought a bunch of brushes and went at it.

well peacock says it adds 300 pounds to your vehicle when you do the bed so i could only imagine what amount of weight that would add

i never would of thought it added 300 lbs. either. that seems a little excessive. i think fort sheridan is an army base. i am in the navy so probably wont get stationed there. are there any good places to off road around there?

If you're in the Navy (cue Village people singing...
) you'll most likely get stationed here at Great Mistakes (about 10 miles north of Ft Sheridan) like me... I haven't found any places to legally wheel in the area yet but I'm still looking... I don't wheel where I'm not supposed to so my Blazer is just a poser ride for now

I am 15 minutes from Great Lakes. Launch my boat and jet skies up there all the time. Anyways, I used to go trail riding (although not legal) across the street from Full Moon restaurant... Kinda almost at the corner of Rt. 41 and 137 (Buckley Rd.) Better off going to Badlands which is about 2.5hrs from great lakes, and a lot better offroading...

See and that's the problem... there are so many damn cops in the area and my Blazer sticks out like a sore thumb... I don't want to attract attention (good or bad) cuz it's probably not street legal by Illinois standards. I've heard that regardless of where your vehicle is actually registered (Washington state in my case) Illinois police will give you a ticket if your vehicle breaks one of their laws i.e. lift height, window tint, etc...
So, anyways, the badlands is the closest legal spot?

I will probably be stationed at Great Mistakes.(sigh) I was there about 4 years ago for 2 years going through boot camp and school. There is a crap load of cops in the area. Does anyone know the laws for lifted and modified vehicles for Il.

well lets see here......Peacock weights his truck, then gets a bed liner done, then weights hid truck again. Hmm the second time its 300lbs heavier. THATS HOW

this isnt 4 gallons of store bought herculiner. its thick sh!t. the guy that did mine put more on than i think he was supposed to but i didnt have any problems with it coming off the bed. and you're right i did round up. it was closer to 280#, but still a lot heavier than i thought it would have been
