Yes you read right. It's real easy to get a funky pattern in your front tires!!
Here's how you do it. Install YJ front springs in S/R configuration. Then install DTech 9000 shocks with built in bumpstop on Ford towers. measure everything, do test on makeshift ramp. (bonehead I am I sold my 30* ramp) Now realize that you'll have to relocate axle forward to clear the back of front fender. If 1" is good, two is even better!
Then take the truck for a small test drive. find a small mound of earth and see how it all flexes. Wow, what was that noise....? Must be front locker cause I have inboard spirngs and the axle is 2" forward!
WRONG you nimrod. it's the tire hitting the FRONT of the front FENDER!!!! WHY??? Because the bumpstop is 1/2" away from begining to compress.
In turn that little lip that is bent under the wheel well will cut trhough a mud lug like a hot knife through butter. The good news it ONLY cut 1/3 of the way around ONE front tire. The bad news is I guess I'll have to put a seperate bumpstop and get the tire balanced..

All in a days work!!

Wow and I thought you were going to say you took a hand held grinder or chain saw to it LOL

Did the grinder thing on my parts rig, man that sure stinks when you use a hand held grinder to chew up a tire.

Don't feel bad I did the same thing to my Thornbirds. I've got the TT kit with DT8000 Prerunners and RRO towers. Problem was I didn't find out until I hit Buck Island lake on the Rubicon.
My front axle is about 1.5" forward.
