1962 Chevy Suburban 4x4 1/2 ton. Going to pick it up this saturday. It's an old Pine City fire truck, not sure if it was a field truck, or fire marshalls are what, but it has only 53k original miles on it. 283 that runs like a top, 3 on the tree, closed knuckle 44, div case, and I think an Eaton rear. Has rust in the typical places, but I found all the peices to fix it. Not gonna make an offroad truck, but more if a head hauler and tow vehicle. In the pic it has 35s on it, those and the axles aren't going with the truck. Im just gonna put 31s, maybe 33s on it with stock 8" ralleys. Eventually I will convert it to fuel injection, build a 406 like was in my old truck, 4 speed tranny, and debating on switching transfer cases. Right now I have to figure out how to get the axles switched and find a set of tires for it. Gonna run a D44 up front with a Ford 9" rear, with the Detroit locker that is currently in my car. Want something a little stronger than a 10 or 12 bolt, and don't want or need a D60 or 14 bolt. NOT GOING OVERKILL ON THIS!! lol. Havta keep telling myself that. If the pic don't work, click here

Probly won't be for awhile before I do anything to the floor/interior. I have to get the drivetrain done first. The had to take the tires and axles off the truck and give them back to the guy (part of the deal), which was fine cause the rear axle was junk. I found a Dana 44HD for the front, and a Dana 60HD for the rear, both have 4:10s. I put the axles in the other day, and drove it around alittle. Doesn't have any brakes yet, so couldn't go too far or very fast. Really siked about getting it going, but don't think it will be on the road this year. I need to get u-bolts for the springs, brakes lines, and then maybe a draglink, oh and get the rear shaft shortened. Who would have thunk that a Dana 60 snout is longer than an Eaton?? Works for now tho. Once I get all that done, then I will start on the body, first with the interior. It's pretty easy to find exterior stuff for this since it's the same as a 6' fleetside pickup. But I can't find anyplace that sells rear section floor pans, the part right behind the seat. The very rear section in still wood floor, so that will be easy to do. I will try to take some pics of it this weekend, tho it looks the same, just with 35s on the back and my snow tires off the 97 on the front. Sorta has the mud racer look to it...
