Well I've been enjoying my new 87 Burb quite a bit driving it around today and noticed that the oil pressure would read really low idling in drive when it was warmed up. I checked the level and it was a little low and dirty so I changed it and filled it up with 5 quarts. Now if I put it in park it would go up a little and if I rev the engine it goes up or if I start to drive it goes right up too. I did some searching and it seems to be a common problem, most likely the sending unit or possibly a ground between the body and frame? Is it pretty common for it to be the sending unit? I dont hear any clacking or rattling at idle so I think the pressure is actually good. Besides if it was dropping to 0-1psi wouldn't the fuel pump shut off automatically? Just worrying about my new truck, I really love driving it and would hate to have to lay it up for an engine rebuild. BTW its an 87 3/4 ton 4WD with a 350/TH400. Thanks
