I'll be damned if I can find the tag on my d30 front to tell me the gears. So I was wondering if anyone here has a 91 YJ 6 cyl., 3 speed auto, w/ stock gears that know the ratio. The only number I saw stamped on the housing was up by the bumpstop, and since it was high pinion it was printed upside down, and read 233. Is that the R&P? Please help me.
I have a 91 Wrangler with the 4.0 and TF999. I can't find the tag on the axel either. But I used this equation in JP magazine and it says I have 456's. I can believe it too because it's awsome out of the hole and I have the stock 235/75/15 on it. Now I bought it used, so they may not be stock.
336/tire diameter x mph x gear ratio = rpm
I have a 91 auto 4.0.
I could never read the tags either. To my best guess they were 3.4 ratio.
