dumb to trade?

postin to activate. and need to find out if its just a retarded idea to trade my 1990 jeep yj with
4.2 has mc 2100 carb
hei dist.
ford 8.8 rear
4.10 gears
some kind of racing seats
7" of total lift (3" body and 4" leaf)
35"x12.50" pro comp mudders
spare tire carrier and heavy duty bumper

this thing gets about 10 mpg tops would it be dumb to trade for a tin topsamurai?
soa
10,000lb winch
31"x11.50"
1.6l
brand new pait and gets about 25 mg

only you can really answer your question. other than trying to figure the value of each vehicle for comparison, will the sammie fit your wants better than the yj? if so tell your friends that it's your business, not theirs. if they want a jeep they should buy one of their own and feed it at the pump with their hard earned cash.

i just turned 18 and im thinkin im not gonna be able to pay for gas in th e yj with gettin minimum wage, its a badass and ive worked hard on it. my dad says i should just slap the 4.0 in it that we have but still sammies are very capable ooff rad vehicles too and cheap to mod like a yj

If dad will help you with the work, you could try swapping engines, but I doubt you'd get over 15mpg. Consider that you won't always have a minimum wage job, but you will get more responsibilities in life. Enjoy whatever you can afford. Maybe find a $500 econo-box beater to drive around so you can keep the Jeep you've worked so hard on.
