new guy needs old tricks

Hello I have an 80 cj7 that I did a ground up on over the past 2 yrs. Now that it's ready I'm having trouble getting the fuel mix right on my new Weber carb. It just seems like I can't find a good spot. I also have an HEI distributor on the rebuilt 258 6cyl. If anyone has any pointers on fine tuning either one I'd like to hear about an answer. Oh yeah and it also seems to have a breathing problem. It idles fine in driveway and revs but as soon as I drive off it dies. I opened the lid to the gas tak but still no workie!! Please help I need this thing running for this spring!!
