Top Mud Challenge V 06/22 & 06/23/2002!

Top Mud Challenge V is officially on for June 22nd & 23rd, 2002. We'll be back at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Montgomery City, Missouri. Due to 142 competition machines showing up in 2001 & probably more in '02, we've decided to make this a 2-day race. All of the GUMBO "Fast Track" classes will run side-by-side on day one. GUMBO "Pit" classes will run a single lane on day 2. With the extra day and an increase in the entry fee per class (from $30 to $40), we expect to blow away the $10,500 in prize money we awarded in 2001 .

Once again, TMC will be part of a larger overall event. Was called the Show-Me 4x4 Truck Fest in '01. Might give it another name in 2002 as the Show N Shine area is going to be opened up to non-4wd's. As with '01, there will be monster truck exhibitions, a monster ride truck, & a manufacturer's midway (e-mail if you're interested in bringing in your wares). There will most likely also be Tough Truck racing on day 2 & POSSIBLY a competition rock crawl on a man-made course. If ya need more info, e-mail me or see my site:

Just to let y'all know, this event has been pared back to a single day. Should be a LOOOONG day, but the promoter decided to try to squeeze it all in. We'll start the mud racing at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday the 22nd. There will be no activities on the 23rd. No tough trucking & no rock crawling. But, there will be monsters & showNshine. Hope to see y'all there.

BTW, the GUMBO website is being taken down for renovation. The new site should be up sometime late January or early Feb of 2002. The new site will be at:

OOPS, forgot to mention: due to the size of the facility, we will only be able to run the Fast Track racers one at a time (single lane). Since we're doing Fast Track & Pit classes on the same day, we need the space that WOULD have been the left Fast Track lane for constructing our Pit lane.
