While this isn't directly realated, I figured you guys are probably the experts...besides the mud bogging i've watched looks pretty fun and addictive...More Power
Background: I'm building up a 68 M715 jeep truck, eventually will have; 350 SB (while a BB would be nice I have to think in terms of miles/gallon, not gallons/mile
, sm465 or TH350 or TH400??, np 205, 39-40" tires, stock axles(dana60/70) w/5.87 gears, ~8,000lb truck
Does anyone know what kind of milage you can get out of some of the big tires? I've heard you can get ~20k out of SS TSL...True? I know one guy locally that goes through almost 2 sets a year, but his truck is a daily driver... How about gumbo mudders or ground hawgs? are there other big tire choices out there?
I'm going to run a 39-40 tire on the truck, keep in mind if I wanted I could run the 38x11 TSL bogger stock, no lift
stock tires are a 34.5" (actual height) non-directional military tire.
Any thoughts would be great...
