The tracks around here are finding it hard to get insurance. I was wondering what you do, who, and what kind of prices. This sue happy country is going to end motorsports.
And then tonight I see a commercial on TV, insurance company saying how it is there job to tell the parents a car is too fast for there kid and refuse to insure it.

Re: Tex

I helped to run a season two years ago. We had a hard time finding insurance too. we finallly found a company here in North Little Rock and it was priced per race. We ran a pit and a single lane fast track. I don't remember the price, but i do rememeber that it almost doubled if you ran two vehicles side by side. I'll do some checking this weekend and see if i can find the name of the company and how much it actually was.

I'll send you a private message with a couple of #'s. We haven't had much trouble, but I know some folks who have. Buddy of mine in Indiana says his 6-race points series is in jeopardy if they can't line up some insurance ASAP.

Re: Tex

Just a thought. The races in Morocco, IN are held by the local Lions club. Don't quote me, but I believe the Lions have some sort of nationwide policy that covers their various fund raising events. The Lions don't really get involved with running the race, but help with the gate, cleanup, etc. They get the money from the gate and the guys organizing the race use the entries for 100% payback. They are changing from single passes to side by side this year too, so apparently the insurance is OK with that. Maybe you could check into something like that where you are. I know this much, if it weren't for the Lions, there would be no races at Morocco, mostly because of the cost of insurance.

Re: Tex

Yes, alot of the races are sponsered by the Lions club or the volenteer fire department, who also seem to have this type of insurance. Just not all the tracks are so lucky.
Thanks for all the input and help.
