Squeeking Brakes

I have a 98 Discovery with squeeking brakes. I pulled the shoes out of the calipers to check fo replacement, but they are fine. What might be causing the squeeking if the shoes are in great shape?

Thanks in advance

Re: Squeeking Brakes

It's a common problem - the pads have to be treated properly to keep them from squeaking. They're soaked with graphited oil and the backs are smeared with anti-sieze compound. Aftermarket pads are even worse.
